Just My Luck
I’ve got a horrible case of spring fever. I’m ready for warmer weather - I want to see the plants starting to grow, not have to put on a sweatshirt and a coat every time I leave the house, and actually wear some of the cute spring shoes that are popping up all over! As part of this desire to speed spring in, I headed out yesterday to get a pedicure. I also ended up with an adorable new pair of shoes. (Check them out… mine are just in patent leather.)
Of course, by the time my pedicure was down, it was snowing like crazy. We’ve got about 3″ so far, and are supposed to get more today during the day. (I’ll post pictures later. As much as I hate the fact that it snowed, it really is pretty.)
Me and my pretty toes are staying in today.

Concerts for the flat-broke dude
I’m totally a junkie when it comes to live music. I like to make it to at least one show a month - more if I can. So when I see a headline about how you can get free concert tickets, I’m all over it. I don’t even have to know the band - there’s a good chance I’ll go see them if its free.
So, I give you How the flat-broke concert loving dude can score free tickets
The 2 problems… the group giving away the tickets is in Ireland, and the tickets are actually in exchange for some… bodily fluids that only men secrete.
Guess I’m out of luck… unless anybody out there wants to take me to shows. ![]()

Woman’s 2-Year Bathroom Say
Sure, there are all kinds of jokes about how long a woman can spend in the bathroom. In this situation, however - its just not funny.
WICHITA, Kansas (AP) — A 35-year-old woman who sat on her boyfriend’s toilet for so long that her body was stuck to the seat had a phobia about leaving the bathroom, the boyfriend said.

Its a sad, scary situation when someone has withdrawn so far into themselves that they won’t leave their house. Its worse when they’re in just one room. This case just takes it to the extreme. I’m not only saddened, but disgusted. I hope this woman gets the help that she obviously needs.

Something new I’m going to try… I think I may combine it with the 52 Screen-Free Nights:
I’ll be setting up a separate blog with my list and progress, once I get organized and get started. More to come!
1 commentHow a Man Cares…
I remember my grandmother telling me about her father saying how a man cared for his horse is how he would care for his woman. As society changed, the caring for a horse turned into caring for a car.
Some men take good care of their cars. They wash them, and wax them. They get the oil changed and tires rotated and every checkup. They park away from the building so that they don’t get door dings, and they don’t let just anybody drive them. They’re seen as a valuable, important part of their lives.
Some men don’t take care of their cars at all. They’re dirty, they have balding tires, and only get an oil change when the light comes on. Their cars are simply utility vehicles that are usable and disposable, like a razor blade or paper plate. They’ll run them into the ground and look back with no regrets when its time to move onto the next one.
I can’t say that there aren’t exceptions to this rule, but more often than not, it does hold true. Men who care about their belongings, including their cars and homes, seem to care more about their relationships. They take better care of the women in their lives as well. They understand the value of people and relationships - they understand that in order to have quality things in their life, they have to take care of them.
So for the girls who read this, take a quick glance at your guy’s car. Would you let yourself be seen the way his car is - perhaps disheveled and filled with trash; or clean, shiney, and smelling like new?
And for the guys: this isn’t purely superficial. Take a look at how you value your property, and the people in your life Are you giving it them the attention it deserves?

The plates don’t get bigger here … and this isn’t Country Buffet where when you get something you don’t like you just get a clean plate.
